When it comes to hair extensions, you literally get what you pay for. Quite often we see hair extensions in poor light due to the nature of which they have been applied and the quality of hair used. With a beautiful application, proper maintenance and quality hair- you should be able to show off your long lucious locks with pride and confidence.
We fell in love with the quality of Showpony hair extensions, they are super natural in appearance and really strong. These extensions are comfortable to wear and the tape is made in Europe (poor quality tape can become gluggy and loose). Showpony is one of the highest quality brands on the market and is an Australian brand offering our salon the best education you can get on application and care. The hair is Remy A+ (all hair facing in the same direction so it is easy for you to brush and style and hair is graded highest quality). Simply this will be the best head of hair you ever had!
All hair extension bookings will require a consultation in store to determine how much hair is needed and the colour. We will require a 50% deposit to secure your booking.
Do’s and don’t’s of extensions:
- Do not use iron/heat tools over 180c in temperature
- Do not use any products with proteins and oils especially near root area. Purple shampoo’s tend to be high in protein. Your stylist will recommend a safe range to use.
- We do not colour extensions as the hair is already treated and porous. We only match up the colour to your own hair. We have a wide range of colours to choose from. Bleach is a big no no.
- Tape extensions need to be moved up every six weeks to keep the hair discreet and prevent matting.
- Avoid very hot showers when washing your hair and using the blowdryer with very high heat at the root area.
- Sleep on a silk pillow case to keep your hair shiny and in style, helps to avoid tangling.
Tape hair extensions when well cared for will last up to twelve months. It does depend on the individual. Tape is great as it is a quick application and the hair is re-used each time until the hair needs replacement.

Skin weft are a form of tape extensions however each strand of hair has been individually sewn into the tape giving the appearance of a hair growing out of the scalp. These extensions are the next level up and look flawless to the eye.

Studio B are excited to announce that we now offer Olaplex as part of a service upgrade with all of our colours.
HOW DID OLAPLEX BECOME TO BE REVOLUTIONARY?
Olaplex was created by two of the world’s leading PHD’s in Materials and Chemistry that had never worked on hair products before, Dr. Eric Pressly and Dr. Craig Hawker. They invented a single ingredient chemistry, that is free of silicone or oils, that links broken bonds in the hair during and after chemical services making them stronger than they were before. In simple terms it rebonds the hair during colour processing.
WHY OLAPLEX?
For anyone that has ever coloured their hair or used bleach, you would have found it is hard to keep the hair in good condition. That is why a good stylist will only lighten hair gently over a period of time. Many uneducated stylists simply over bleach to the point where the hair snaps off. During colouring or bleaching you open the hair shaft which then frays. By adding Olaplex to the colour/bleach it then re bonds the hair during the time when it would become damaged.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR YOUR HAIR?
Your hair will be in BETTER condition than before it was coloured! No more split ends, no dry feeling and you CAN bleach hair without damage.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR STYLISTS?
Stylists can now push the boundaries by double processing with bleach on the same day, using bleach on hair that we previously would have turned away as too damaged and making our clients hair feel as good as it looks! Whilst this is an absolute miracle product endorsed by celebrity stylists, you still need to show professional judgement. You cannot use extra strong developer or leave the bleach on for two hours, you can still do a lot of damage if used incorrectly.
WHAT IS THE COST?
This service is $60-$80 depending on hair length/thickness. This includes your in salon service and a take home treatment to use once per week.
